Tune the 1st and 2nd pair in unison. |

Tune pair 4, 5 and 6 in octaves. |

Many prefer to tune their 12-string guitars a whole (or more) step lower, this will give the guitar a much deeper sound. It is also good to avoid neck and top damage. |
